MOSES SUPPOSES HIS TOESES ARE ROSES

From old American and English rhymes that have been told by parents to their children for generations, Nancy Patz has selected eight and retold them with wit, charm, and just a few changes that tickle her fancy. Some are nonsense rhymes, some tongue twisters, and some are funny poems about funny people. 

To accompany them she has created wonderfully exuberant two-color drawings inspired by eighteenth and nineteenth century Pennsylvania Dutch hand-painted certificates called fraktur. The pictures capture to perfection the rollicking spirit of the rhymes, and the result is a lively book that children will love and chuckle over.
